Director of Laboratories
The main function of the Office of the Director of Laboratories is the oversight of all facilities occupied by the Department of Chemistry.
The Department of Chemistry occupies approximately 115K square feet of space in two separate buildings, with approximately 60% of the total space being in the Science and Engineering South (SES) building, and the remainder located in the west wing of the Science and Engineering Laboratories (SELW) building. Approximately 48% of the space occupied by the Department is devoted to research-related activities, 26% to instructional-related activities, and 26% to office/support-related activities. The Director of Laboratories is responsible for all physical plant issues related to this space, including oversight of all routine infrastructure repairs, remodeling, new construction, office/lab relocations etc.
