New Faculty Minjung Ryu!
The UIC Chemistry Department recently hired Dr. Minjung Ryu as our newest Chemistry Education faculty member! Dr. Ryu’s research focuses on issues of diversity and equity in chemistry education and more broadly in STEM education. In particular, she is interested in how racial, ethnic, and linguistic minority students engage in classroom discourses, how they construct identities, and how such social interactions impact their STEM participation and learning. Her research projects engage English learners and resettled refugee youth, non-native English-speaking college STEM students, and pre- and in-service STEM teachers. Welcome Minjung!
