New faculty positions are open

UIC is looking for two new faculty starting Fall 2020.

The University of Illinois at Chicago, Department of Chemistry is seeking applicants for a joint position at the rank of assistant professor in the departments of chemistry and biological sciences beginning August 2020. We seek applicants with a strong research record and interest in integrating chemistry and neuroscience research. Preference will be given to candidates who have strong background in developing cutting-edge physical, analytical and chemical biology methods and tools for neuroscience. Candidates must hold a doctorate in chemistry, biology or a closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a full and active program of innovative research and contribute to teaching graduate and undergraduate students in chemistry and biological sciences. Note: Position Closed: We are also seeking an individual who has established an internationally recognized research program in organic chemistry, a track record of external funding, and the vision and leadership to fill the newly established Endowed Chair in Chemistry at the rank of tenured associate or full professor. Candidates in all areas of the discipline who complement our existing research strengths, will help to push disciplinary boundaries, and are committed to support our growing academic program are sought.
