Sherlyn Cazares to Conduct Research at Caltech as a WAVE Fellow

alt

We are thrilled to announce that Sherlyn Cazares, an exceptional undergraduate from our department, has been accepted into Caltech’s prestigious WAVE Fellows Program. This 10-week summer research program is designed to increase the participation of underrepresented students in science and engineering Ph.D. programs.

During her fellowship, Sherlyn will work under the mentorship of Professor Theodor Agapie, whose research focuses on developing new, practical catalysts inspired by biological systems.

Sherlyn is an active participant in L@S GANAS and Don’s S-STEM program. She has already co-authored a publication with Professor Tom Driver, showcasing her dedication and talent in the field. After completing Professor Neal Mankad’s class, she developed a keen interest in synthesizing metal complexes and has since joined his lab to further her research.

We are incredibly proud of Sherlyn’s achievements and look forward to her future contributions to the scientific community.
